Set during the time of King Hintsa, it tells the fictional story of a pair of twins in legal dispute over their inheritance. The book also comments on the pratice of ingqithi, or "finger cutting".]

[Source - Henry Fagan for FHYA, 2022: Written by S.E.K. Mqhayi before 1914. This copy was published in 1931 by The Lovedale Press in Alice. A copy was acquired by the National Library of South Africa (NLSA) at an unknown date. Following a request from FHYA, the book was digitsed by the NLSA in January 2022 and sent to the FHYA. Uploaded by Benathi Marufu for FHYA in February 2022.]
